GSL Dardan is delighted to announce their involvement with an independent study of the security industry, which is being carried out by Perpetuity – a leading provider of research and consultancy in the areas of crime reduction, community safety, and security.

As members of the Approved Contract Scheme Pacesetters(ACS Pacesetters Scheme), the stakeholders of GSL Dardancontinuously strive to raise the standards in the security industry. GSL Dardan believes all responses to the survey will raise awareness of issues, and benefit their customers as well as the security industry as a whole.

The study aims to highlight concerns about the state of thesecurity industry, specifically the potential impact of changes to regulations, and the impact of the recession.

Professor Martin Gill, head of Perpetuity Research, said: “This could be the largest survey of the security sector ever undertaken, and we would encourage individuals to take part. This is a rare opportunity to gain insights into what people are really doing, and what they really think about what is happening in security. The survey is anonymous; no names of individuals or companies are recorded. The findings will be made available free of charge, so do please complete it.”

Perpetuity is incredibly interested to hear from the following groups:

• Directors and Managers of companies providing security goods and/or security services
• Buyers of security goods and/or security services, including:
  • Security managers;
  • Directors of corporations;
  • Public/voluntary bodies;
  • Facilities managers; and
  • Procurement specialists.
• Security officers and supervisors of security officers, where duties include:
  • Security guarding;
  • Static guarding;
  • Mobile patrols;
  • Protection of company assets;
  • Cash and valuables in transit work;
  • Close protection;
  • Door supervision;
  • CCTV and public space surveillance;
  • Immobilisation, restriction and removal of vehicles; and
  • Key holding.
